Dear Mike and Robin, Losing our home was one of the most difficult things that we have ever experienced in our life. It’s impossible to describe the pain we felt as we watched our dream of 25 years go up in flames. Our daughter didn’t have her stuffed animals to sleep with or her favorite pillow to lay her head on. We didn’t have warm clothes or even the most basic day-to-day items. Our hearts were broken and our lives felt out-of-control. There were times when we weren’t sure if we would make it through another day. God’s word says that all things, good and bad, work to the good of those who love him and are called according to His purpose. We held on tight to that scripture, believing God would turn this tragedy into something that would be a testimony to His name. Today we are in a home more beautiful than we ever envisioned! We wanted to take this opportunity to commend you and your staff for our lovely home. Needless to say, building a new home is an exciting, as well as an often overwhelming undertaking. Thanks to your staff, the process was made easier. From the onset, Kathy Sobrio and Michael Bullington were extremely helpful in answering our many questions and allowing us access to the Stoneleigh Model (for measurements, family treks, etc.). I’m sure we set a record for the number of repeat visits to the model, and on each visit we were met by a smiling Kathy and/or Michael. They were never too busy to spend a few minutes chatting with us. Your office staff, Lisa, Jennifer, and Myrna were outstanding. They were always cordial and professional in their dealings with us. Dave and Jerry were a great help in the planning and design of our porch, as well as providing answers to our numerous questions. We love our deck and look forward to enjoying our porch in the near future. Andy and his crew have done an excellent job on both. Andy and Henry took great pains to make sure that we approved of the location and design of the stairs, as well as the design and layout of the deck and porch. We can’t say enough good things about Henry! Throughout this whole process Henry has been a saint. He answered our questions and often offered suggestions. He accommodated our schedule and met with us at our convenience (mornings, evenings and weekends). Even though his schedule is hectic and demanding, he always responded promptly to our calls. Despite the many demands placed upon Henry, he is always pleasant, polite and professional. Lastly, Mike, we would like to thank you. Dear Mike, The referenced project has been a long arduous task over the past 1.5 years involving some extremely difficult terrain and challenging logistics. In spite of the challenges, including the project site being on a mountain top, you overcame all obstacles. From dealing with the Prince William zoning board in an attempt to get a variance to hammer/hoe and removal of the solid rock when you began excavation for the garage until final completion, it has been a journey. But in spite of these obstacles on May 25, 2010 you handed me the keys to a home worthy of mention in the Architectural Digest. I would like to give a special thanks to Mike Mott, your site superintendent. His performance was outstanding during the entire project. He is professional, knowledgeable, honest, and trustworthy. There was never any attempt on his part to dance around a problem or issue and most of the time recommend an appropriate solution to the problem at hand. His dedication to my project was outstanding. I would also like to thank Tina Bell and her support from the home office. She provided accurate billing and if any questions came up on specifications or selection of product she was always there to help. Dear Mike, I wanted to let you know how appreciative we are for the outstanding work done by Mike Garcia Construction Inc. The project was an ambitious undertaking. The final product was outstanding and costs were within estimate. We were indeed fortunate to have been acquainted with and have Mike Garcia Construction perform the work. Our neighbors (including members of the Homeowners Association) were very impressed not only with the final product, but made many positive comments about the daily cleanup and how well the house was protected during the hurricane. We were first acquainted with Mike Garcia Construction through Joey Brookstein. We had worked with Joey for over a year on other projects and had high confidence in any of his recommendations. He is an outstanding organizer and manager, and one who a customer can trust. He is also a worker who jumps in to get the job done. He is in my opinion your greatest ambassador. The EIFS (stucco) had been a relentless problem that was always on my mind. After I met Carl Juran the first time I knew our problems were going to be resolved. His work was methodical and his plan detailed. There was no substitute for his many years of experience in the business. He made multiple trips, taking samples, etc., while he assessed the damage and refined his plan. It wasn’t a plan to retrofit, but a plan to rebuild the old fashioned way. Carl brought many details to my attention that I hadn’t considered. I personally want to acknowledge the team: Udiel Barrios, Amy Otoole-Rhue, and Billy Neff, who worked under the watchful eye of Ron Abrams. It’s hard to believe that such a hard working and well coordinated team of professionals exists in this day and age. They never let up, not even for lunch. On bad weather days they took on other tasks such as interior moldings, always taking advantage of the time. In addition they were completely trustworthy, and always courteous and thoughtful. The success of this project is the sum of their dedication and professionalism. Both Henry Frye and Ron always took the extra step to ensure the overall quality of the project such as finding problems created by Brinks Home Security. Between them, they exhibited an enormous amount of knowledge. In addition, Henry Frye is in my opinion a “company man” never losing site of the corporate perspective whether it was a contractual issue, quality assurance, schedule, or costs. He is an excellent communicator who was prompt, and always able to clarify issues in a way that made sense to me. Lastly, Tony Mussomele was an exceptionally skilled bricklayer who worked tirelessly throughout the whole job. He was able to reproduce the details done by the original builder, but much better. Tony recommended the brick we ultimately chose based on the style of our house, and made arrangements for us to view a home he had built with that brick. He was referred to by several neighbors as an artist. I agree. As I said, we were lucky to have Mike Garcia Construction, Inc., and we believe the end result is a better home then ever. We plan on doing additional work including: a first-level expansion, and replacement of all windows with Anderson. You can be assured that we look forward to working with your company and staff again in the future. Please feel free to use us as references for any future customers.

I hired Mike Garcia Construction on a commercial specialty project which involved the renovation of an 80 year old dairy barn and converted it to a fully building code compliant Event center. This was a very complicated construction project, a first for the local jurisdiction and MGC made everything look so easy. They were efficient, professional and courteous and whenever there were any issues they got them taken care of very quickly. What impressed me the most on the project was that we had the most rainfall since the mid 1800's and we still completed the project on time and on budget. That is just miraculous. We trusted your experience and integrity and felt that we could always get a straight answer from you. When we had special requests/concerns (e.g., Brazilian cherry floors), you always did your best to address them. Nothing was ever immediately deemed impossible, but was always given careful consideration. We were a little concerned that we would not continue to interact with you directly during the construction phase; but Mike M. was great and you were never more than a phone call away if the need arose. Robin was extremely helpful with selections and I could always count on her help if I had a question or concern. Kathy did a great job tracking down suppliers and prices for us. I know that we were a “special case” as far as the number of upgrades we made and Robin and Kathy were instrumental in helping that process go as smoothly as possible. Even through the high number of change orders, everyone was always pleasant and helpful. Last but not least, Dave was our “the buck stops here” man. He was always accessible if Mike M. wasn’t available or if a difficult to solve problem arose. Dave was professional and knowledgeable and as I am sure you know (based on the number of years you two have worked together) he is also a great asset to your organization. This experience of building a custom home has been a pleasant one thanks to all of you. We truly consider this a dream home and it seems that not a week goes by that we don’t notice additional touches and detail that separates you from other builders. First, your commitment to quality is evident throughout. The exterior walls (2x6s on 16″ centers) provide unbelievable strength and silence — even the windiest days go unnoticed. The large, sweeping, curved walls (glued and screwed) are simply impeccable and the fact that they are all draped with beautiful moldings make them extremely distinctive. Additionally, the exquisite flooring, cabinetry, and windows are frequent conversation pieces for our guests. Second, unlike the floor plans of many large homes, the floor plan of our Mike Garcia home is extremely open, inviting, and most important, functional. My wife and two daughters routinely use every room in the entire house. The spiral staircases, the open floor plan, the smart positioning of the rooms and balconies make the home not only beautiful, but comfortable too. It simply feels like home — as it should. This, coupled with the beautiful rolling fields and magnificent views of Evergreen Estates, remind us that we have been extremely fortunate to have found such quality in our home and our land. Third, the responsiveness from the Mike Garcia team has been remarkable as well. Dave Enke has always provided prompt, professional service, and Mike Mott is extremely knowledgeable and has taken hours out of his day to point out additional mechanical features of our home. I had reached capacity at the mechanic’s shop that I was leasing and desperately needed more space to grow my business.  Through a mutual banking associate, I was referred to Mike Garcia as a potential means to construct my own building.  Little did I know, but Mike and his team were able to help not only with the “sticks and bricks” of building, but Mike helped me find a property with the right zoning for my business, helped me negotiate the sales price, and even helped me purchase additional acreage from the adjacent land owner when we discovered we needed more land to install the storm detention pond.  Where Mike really shined was his ability to help me get creative with my finances in order to make the project a reality.  My appraisal unfortunately came in low, which would have ended most projects, but Mike suggested ideas that helped me circumvent the issue while also getting ownership into my son’s name.  It truly was a win/win and achieved my goals of generational wealth for my family. As far as the construction was concerned, from the time our site permit was approved for construction to my occupancy permit for the building was just 6 months, with all my site and VDOT bonds released one month later!  I love my building and the increased capacity it provides my business.  Mike Garcia Construction is a top notch company with a knowledgeable and honest staff that truly made this stressful undertaking a bearable reality.

Dearest Robin- I can honestly say that I AM SOOOOO SAD that my basement project is complete!!! We have BOTH thoroughly appreciated and ENJOYED getting to know you Matt & Mike. We can see what the Garcia family VALUES because your sub-contractors are representatives of YOUR FAMILY! I'd like to send along a special thanks to Mike Mott, Billy & Mark for their hard work, dedication, skill and ALWAYS respectful and professional demeanor. But the greatest blessing to me throughout this project was Mr. Ron! I was very impressed THROUGHOUT that Ron was able to coordinate all aspects of the job so that once we had permits in hand, there was rarely a day when SOMETHING wasn't being worked on. Even when there was an "unexpected hitch", I NEVER heard a negative remark or sensed a negative attitude of any kind! Ron is a complete STANDOUT when it comes to EVERYTHING that he does as "Superintendent"! Scott & I moved here in 2002 from Arizona where he was running the ROTC department at Arizona State University. We moved into Prince William County so Scott could complete his final assignment with the Army at the Pentagon and I could "finish" raising our 4 kids. The home we purchased back then has changed over these 21 years quite a bit. We hired various contractors to renovate bathrooms, the kitchen (twice), a family room extension, installed an in-ground pool, a detached garage, landscaping & hardscape around the whole house AND Scott built a treehouse 😆. We have met & "worked with" too many "Project Managers" or "Superintendents" to count. Ron is ONE of 2 Superintendents that I would ABSOLUTELY look forward to working with again because of his knowledge, his good humor, his positivity, his very "giving"nature and the example he sets with his very high standards. The purpose of this letter is to explain briefly the business relationship between Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and Mike Garcia Construction Company (MGC) and the positive experience that resulted from that business relationship. In December 2006, as the President & CEO of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, I made a verbal agreement for the construction of an office facility on property owned by Mr. Garcia, President & CEO of MGC. On February 9, 2007, we signed a formal agreement to confirm our earlier verbal agreement. On March 23, 2007, we had a groundbreaking ceremony on the construction site and construction began within days thereafter. From that date until December 17, 2007, my staff visited the site weekly, met with the construction supervisor and observed the progress. Within weeks of commencement of construction, MGC forged ahead of schedule. Mr. Garcia appointed his son, Michael, as the site supervisor. The performance of Michael can only be described as totally outstanding. He was always at the site and always fully aware of every aspect of the construction project. Clearly, the quality of the final product and the pace of activity were directly related to a competent, dedicated on­scene supervisor. On December 17, 2007, we held the first building inspection of the new facility which was approximately 95% complete at that point in time. We found only minor issues that needed attention. On January 9, 2008, we made the final inspection and determined that all items identified in December had been corrected. Importantly, MGC had completed the project within the agreed budget and ahead of the scheduled completion date. Tittoughout the building, MGC incorporated quality additions beyond what is notmally found in an office facility. This special customization transformed the building from an ordinary office facility into an impressive headquarters for a national charity. The combination of the design and quality construction enables this office facility to contribute positively to the Prince William County master plan for the refurbishment of the Highway #1 corridor through the eastern portion of the county. Most importantly, this facility provides the Foundation staff with a truly high quality work environment which will increase productivity and enhance morale. This translates into a more effective and efficient staff that will be able to provide more responsive and timely support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators, corporate sponsors, donors and supporters. The end result will be a more effective overall nationwide Toys for Tots Program. From the first meeting to the settlement on January 15, 2008, every aspect of the business partnership reflected professionalism and integrity. I feel strongly that it will be difficult to find a construction company that surpasses MGC in quality of workmanship or overall professionalism. When MGC takes on a project, the entire organization rallies behind Mike Garcia with enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a determination to deliver the highest quality product in the timeliest manner possible.
